During the day, and before the evening concerts, we want, as much as possible, to help everyone ‘make music’. Young, middle aged, and old. Here is how.
Before you come, you will have completed a questionnaire telling us what music you have performed before in your life. For example, school choir, church hymns, piano to Grade X, instrument during school but never after. And what non-pop music you enjoy (there is some excellent film music).
With this information, some of you will be encourage to bring your own instruments (where practicable). For others, we will attempt to have an instrument waiting for you on arrival. For those with no instrumental experience we will offer one that is easy to start with – ukulele, recorder, mouth organ. Everyone will be expected to exercise their vocal chords – so we will send you some simple folk or classical pieces to ‘prepare’.
